A three-bedroom apartment near Sloane Square was stripped back and fully modernised, while its architectural details were restored. The work took place inside an occupied building, so the services strategy, acoustic performance and finish quality all had to meet the standard of the building and its residents.

What mattered on this project
- Working in an occupied building. Shared risers and central heating stayed live, so the strip-out was planned around them.
- Acoustics. New acoustic battens protect the neighbouring apartments, a requirement in most prime mansion buildings.
- Detail. New architraves, linings and joinery were made to suit the proportions of the original rooms.
